This piece resonates with several ideas that resurface regularly in my work: narratives of place; narratives in general and their relationship to reality; categorization/atomization subverting reality; cognition creating, and limiting our experience of, reality; and ideas from physics about dimensions that are not accessible to us in our current reality.

I’m never quite sure how helpful it actually is offering these explanations — explaining my art always feels like very hard work! Like most of my work, it’s primal, it’s about making you feel unsettled, connected to something you can’t explain, prodding something beyond our crude narratives.
