It started with one Dollar cubed for a show in 2012…
… and grew into a project, where people donated single dollars whilst I was in residency, and I ironed them and transformed them to cubes.
Each cube comprises $12 – no dollars are harmed in the making of this piece! (No gluing, no cutting – each cube can be disassembled to its constituent $12)
People sometimes take this piece as a meditation on capitalism, but it is fundamentally (like much of my work) about the nature of the world versus our perception of it.
